This class is a great opportunity to start in the Heartland Conference School of Ministry. We are beginning a two-year cycle. Although you don't have to take the classes in any order, a survey of the Old Testament is the perfect time to come find out what School of Minsitry is all about!

    Henrietta Mears's all-time classic gives an excellent overview and understanding, in clear and concise language, of every book in the Bible. It includes commentary and other study helps, historical background on every key event in the Bible, and an article on "How to Become a Member of God's Family."

  • Typing on computerPre-class Assignment

    1. Read all of the Old Testament section of "What the Bible is All About". The students will sign a reading report indicating what % of the text was read.
    2. Make a chart listing the 39 Old Testament books. For each of them, include a) the category (law, poetry, etc...); b) how Jesus Christ is portrayed; and c) a ONE SENTENCE summary for each book.

    note: # a and b are provided by the writer. # c should be in the student's own words.
