Homegoing Service for Rev. Clarence Dewitt Glaze Jr.

Celebration of life service for Clarence Dewitt Glaze Jr., 89 of Enid, will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, at Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Clarence Glaze JrRev. Clarence Glaze transferred from the Assemblies of God to the International Pentecostal Holiness Church in 1989. He was a gifted and faithful leader, pastoring the Enid First Love Church for many years. Rev. Glaze carried a vision and burden for all of Enid to come to Christ until the day he departed this life.

We pray his precious family at this time of sorrow. We also rejoice that our dear brother Clarence has entered the eternal presence of Jesus Christ!

Obituary

Clarence was born July 24, 1928 in Mexia, Texas to Clarence Dewitt Sr. and Eunice Pitts Glaze, and passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018.

At the age of eight, Clarence moved with his mom and siblings to Enid, Ok following the death of his father. He attended Enid Public Schools and graduated from Enid High School. Shortly after moving to Enid, His mother met and married Knute Christensen, giving Clarence and his siblings a loving father figure.

After attending Southwestern Assemblies of God College, Clarence married Mary Osburn in 1950. Clarence and Mary were blessed four children, Marilyn, Terry, Terrell, and Michelle. They served in ministry for many years as evangelists and pastors all over the country.

Clarence served faithfully on the Enid Police Department for over 20 years, retiring as a Police Sergeant and Chaplain. He also served as the pastor of the First Love Church with his wife Barbara, impacting thousands of lives through years of ministry and missions outreach.

He enjoyed his retirement years with his precious wife, Jeanne. They enjoyed camping, horseback riding, trail rides, playing his steel guitar and seniors ministry.

Clarence is survived by his children, Marilyn Murray and Sam Stauffer, Terry Glaze, Terrell and Beverly Glaze, and Michelle and Mark Atterson. Grandchildren Brandon Murray, Bethany Glaze, BrieAnna Glaze, Benjamin Glaze, Braden Glaze, Missy Mae Glaze, Matthew Atterson, Michael Atterson, Miracle Atterson, and Makenna Atterson. Siblings, Johnny and Jean Glaze, Joyce and Duwane Keahey, Bobby and Molly Christensen.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, Clarence DeWitt Glaze Sr., Eunice Christensen, and Knute Christensen. Siblings, Ronnie Christensen, Gloria Wales, Marvin Christensen, Chester Glaze, Anna Lee, Pauline May, and Bob Glaze.

Memorials may be made to Glaze Ministries, Inc. with the funeral home, Anderson Burris Funeral Home, serving as custodian.
