Marvin Goodpasture Homegoing

Marvin GoodpastureA Celebration of Life Service for Marvin L. Goodpasture, age 86, of Enid, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Abundant Life Church with Pastor Dusty Giles and Pastor David Robinson officiating.

Burial follows in Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Marvin was born January 31, 1931, in Enid to Leland and Ula Scott Goodpasture, and passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017, in the Enid Senior Care Center.

Marvin attended school in Hennessey and Enid, until WW II when he quit to help his father operate Goodpasture Dairy.

Marvin spent many years in retail sales while pastoring in churches in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. Marvin was pastor at Evangelist Center for 10 years.

He worked for Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home for 22 years as a minister and support staff.

He married Betty Smith in 1949, and they had two sons, Gary and Terry.

On January 5, 1980, he was united in marriage to Sue (Main) Long.

Marvin was a member of Abundant Life Church, where he was recognized for 50 years as a minister, where he made memories that he cherished.

He is survived by wife Sue of the home, step-son Steve Long of OKC, daughters-in-law Belinda Goodpasture of Pond Creek, and Donna Goodpasture of Enid, grandchildren, Heather Goodpasture, Shelly McCaleb (Scott) of Medford, Jessica Miller (Gary) of Stillwater, Josh Goodpasture of Enid, John Goodpasture (Leah) of Colorado Springs, and Jeremy Long of OKC; eight great-grandchildren; brother Jack Goodpasture (Fran); two sisters LaVon Lashley, and Myrna Henry (Jerry); and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, two sons Terry and Gary, and step-son Patrick Long.

Memorials may be made to Abundant Life Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
